UTC and gps:itow in log files

Henri Pierre
Hello

I've just done an export of a flight session using the log plotter and I'm facing an issue while trying to match
UTC and gps:itow fields. For example on a row :
UTC is 12:57:38.020  and GPS:itow is 305873250.

According to my calculation, this itow refers to 12:27:53.25  which is different from UTC in the file.

Do anybody has an explanation ? what does UTC stands for ?

Regards
Henri

Dear Henri,

thats an issue with the leap seconds reflected in UTC http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coordinated_Universal_Time

GPS overall time has started in the 80s and does not count for them.

Should be a searchable issue...

Cheers

Marc
