How universal is the Linux arch?

Tilman Baumann-3
Just out of interest I browsed through the linux arch airborne tree again.
I wonder, how universally is this tree usable? It seems only used with
bebop and ardrone2, which obviously has some special hardware already
included and probably API for that.

I have got tons of linux dev boards here. I wonder what it would take to
hook up the required sensors and actuators.
I'm not exactly eger to build all that up right now. My mind is
elsewhere at the moment. But I wondered if either someone had done that
already or even just how much that might even be feasible at all.

Anyway, just random spark of interest.
 Cheers

Re: How universal is the Linux arch?

Christophe De Wagter
if your gyro's are mounted as some /dev/... device e.g. serial or i2c, then
ardrone2 has a navboard providing serial data over a /dev/...
bebop has separate sensors over i2c

so the arch is quite reusable, only some specific drivers will probably be needed depending on you you connect your stuff to linux
